This beautiful hiking tour takes you along the remains of an ancient Roman road that used to connect Diocletian Palace with Dalmatian hinterland.

Perun hill is located between Split and Omiš. It stretches from the River Žrnovnica, near Split, to the mouth of Cetina near Omiš in the length of 17 km. 

On the west side, above the quarry in Žrnovnica, there is a church of St. George (441 m.a.s.l.) from where you there is a stunning view of Stobrec, Split, Kaštela and Žrnovnica. 

Highest point: Križ, 533 m.

Departure shuttle from Split

We meet at the designated shuttle point and continue to Strožanac, small settlement on the outskirts of Split, beneath Perun hill.

Crest of the Perun hill - Old Podstrana village

We follow a steep path towards the crest of the hill and continue along the crest towards the old village of Podstrana, where we have a short break.

Old Podstrana - St. Maksim

We follow the ancient Roman road that is still in use today and once again climb the hill to reach the church of St.Maksim

Through the forest to Omiš

We follow the path through pine forest on the Northern side of the hill, across the crest once again to old village of Duće and to Omiš, where we go to our well deserved lunch
